Ami Sanchez Joins Capiro as Advisor, Appropriations

We’re excited to welcome Ami Sanchez to Capiro as Advisor, Appropriations.

Ami is a lobbyist and appropriations consultant with more than 15 years of experience across Congress, the executive branch, and government affairs.

She spent nearly a decade on the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship, beginning as a professional staff member and ultimately serving as General Counsel. During her time in the Senate, she advised committee leadership on legislation, federal policy, regulatory issues, and the role of small and non-traditional businesses in the federal marketplace.

Ami later supported the Office of the Secretary of Defense, including the Office of Small Business Programs and Industrial Policy within Acquisition & Sustainment. In that role, she worked on issues affecting the defense industrial base and helped develop the Department of Defense’s Small Business Strategy.

Today, she works directly with organizations navigating Congress, federal funding, appropriations, and legislative strategy.

At Capiro, Ami will help us continue building around the way appropriations and congressional work actually happens, from developing the ask and understanding the funding pathway to preparing submissions, managing deadlines, and carrying a priority through the legislative cycle.

Capiro is being built with practitioners who know the work firsthand. Ami brings exactly that kind of experience, and we’re excited to have her advising us as we continue building the AI back office for lobbyists and government affairs teams.
